MSC World America Passes Sea Trials

MSC Cruises’ new LNG-powered flagship, MSC World America, has successfully completed sea trials in the Atlantic Ocean. This marks a major step towards its launch in the Caribbean.

Key Details:

  • Delivery: Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard will deliver the 216,638 gross ton vessel on March 27.
  • Capacity: The ship will accommodate 6,762 passengers and 2,138 crew members.
  • Amenities: It will feature 22 decks, 2,614 cabins, 18 bars and lounges, and 19 dining venues.
  • Power: The ship uses an LNG power system, compatible with bio and synthetic renewable LNG fuels. It also has shore power connectivity, advanced wastewater treatment, and recycling systems.
  • Future Ships: MSC Cruises will also receive MSC World Asia in 2026 and another World Class vessel in 2027.

Launch and Itineraries:

Regular Service: Starting April 12, it will offer 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, with stops in Puerto Plata, San Juan, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Isla de Roatan, and Ocean 1 Cay

Naming Ceremony: The ship will be officially named on April 9 at the MSC Miami Cruise Terminal.

Maiden Voyage: It will set sail to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas.

Regular Service: Starting April 12, it will offer 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, with stops in Puerto Plata, San Juan, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Isla de Roatan, and Ocean Cay.
