DP World and Evyapport are merging their Turkish terminals to create a new logistics powerhouse. Located on the Asian side of the Bosporus, the combined operation will be named DP World Evyap.
DP World will acquire a 58% stake in Evyapport, while Evyap Group will hold a 42% share in DP World Yarımca. Together, the terminals will boast 2,088 meters of berthing space, capable of handling multiple ultra-large container ships simultaneously. The combined annual container handling capacity will exceed 2 million TEU.
This partnership aims to leverage DP World’s expertise in container handling, customs, and warehousing with Evyapport’s strength in container, liquid bulk, and general cargo operations. The goal is to provide enhanced services to customers in the region.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, emphasized Turkey’s importance as a key market and highlighted the partnership as a step towards a stronger global trade future. Kris Adams, CEO of DP World Turkey, added that the combined infrastructure will offer customers powerful new services in this growing trade region.
Mehmed Evyap, founder and CEO of Evyap Holding, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that it combines DP World’s global reach with Evyapport’s local knowledge. He expects the new company to improve operational efficiency, expand service offerings, and benefit both customers and Turkish trade.
DP World Yarımca, one of the largest container ports on the Sea of Marmara, handles 1.15 million TEU annually. It specializes in container transport. Evyapport, a major container terminal in East Marmara, is Turkey’s leading tank terminal for vegetable oil storage, with a capacity of 855,000 TEU and 1.1 million tonnes of liquid cargo storage.
